Though it is easy to find internet related forums to participate, how do you find active forums in other niches? There are two techniques for you to use. Use the Google search engine or a very specialized Big Message Board directory that tracks and categorizes the most active forums in hundred of niches.

When using Google, perform a search using the keywords forum and your niche. For example, “forum gardening“. Put the keywords in quote for a better match. After doing the search, you have to visit each forum and find out its Alexa ranking, how many posts and active users it has, how many active users are present at any time during the day, and if the forum allows you to put your signature in the post. It will take lots of time. Is there a better alternatives? Yes, use the Big Message Board.
Big Message Board, also known as the Big Boards, is a forum directory. As of this writing, they are tracking and categorizing close to 2,000 forums and message boards. From Arts to Sports, you’re definitely going to find one or more forums that are good fit to your niche.

You can sort the forum list of Big Message Board using posts, members, maximum online users, Alexa ranking, traffic and online users. You can also filter the list based on language. If you are only looking for German forums, you can filter the list to show only German language forums.
If you are already running a forum, you can submit your forum to the Big Message Board for inclusion in their database.
When you perform a search in Big Message Board, not only do you get forums directly related to your niche, you also get a list of sub-forums of some main forums that are pertinent to your niche. For example, if you search for gardening you will get a list of forums related to gardening and also a list of sub forums in the main forums like lawn care.
You can also use Big Message Board to brainstorm niche ideas. Visit a few forums in their popular category and find out what is the most talked about topic in those forums. Presto, you have niche that needs some solutions. Provide the solutions and you will make money.
