Your Emotions Are Not Your Enemy

Your emotions are not your enemy. They are not where you live. They are a doorway. A doorway to what? A doorway to intimacy with God, Divine. Sometimes we treat emotions like they are something to be engulfed in, or something we fight against. Either way, emotions are more like a sign. They are not barriers, they are an invitation into something greater. For a while, I lived in disconnect. Sorrow. Distrust. I lived in Disappointment, fear, pain. This part of my life was miserable, and the hardest place to face myself in. When I realized that this was an invitation, I had to discipline myself to go to God and just be with him. I sat on the grass and watched the sky, the sunset, the kids play. And, you know what, in facing the messiest of times, allowing myself to feel the pain, is when the breakthrough came. Your emotions can show you that you are called for something deeper. 1 Peter 5:7 says, "Cast all your cares upon Him because He cares for you." Next time you feel overwhelmed, frustrated, lonely, disappointed, fear, bring them to God, Divine. He doesn't ask us to be stoic, he asks us to be real. From my experience, he LOVES it when I don't allow myself to get caught up in this world's standards, but in his LOVE. LOVE is the greatest vibration. What emotion are you carrying today that can be turned into time with him? . . . . .
