Many newbie website owners still use link exchange techniques for backlinks to their sites. When you are engaged in link exchanges with other sites, you don’t get oneway links to your site. The negative effect of an out going link from your site to another site nullifies the positive effect of a backlink from another site. So, it is a zero sum game. With the explosion of Web 2.0 and social networking sites, free oneway links from these authoritative sites should be your  link building strategy.

Last year I wrote a post on 25 sites for web traffic from high page rank back links. The post has become very popular and had 68 comments as of this writing. I decided to revisit the topic and add more Web 2.0 sites where you can leave your web site’s URL for oneway links to your site. I have checked these 16 sites for accuracy and I have used these sites to obtain oneway links.

YouBundle A website where you bundle links of websites, videos and pictures on a topic and then share it with others. Create a profile where you can put your own web site links. Create bundles and put links related to the bundle topic. Add your website link to the bundle also.

Tumblr It is a blogging platform. Create a blog in your niche and add links to your sites and a few other sites. I found this site very annoying and slow. But, just spend the time to create one blog post and put your links there. I have done that.

Work.com It is an entrepreneur’s owner manual about how to do things and where to go to get things done. You write how to guides and plug your site URL. You can also add your site URL in your profile. Here is a guide I wrote about  how to use free classified sites to generate part time income.

PBWorks.com It is a collaborative project management tool. You sign up for the free version and store some of of your pdf files that have your affiliate and website links. You can also create document or pages and put your links there.

eBay.com. Everybody knows about eBay, the largest online auction site. But do you know that you can create a blog, write a review or a guide in eBay and stuff links to your web sites? Sign up or log into eBay  and look for Community on the top right hand corner. Click on the community and scroll down. You will see links to ebay blogs.

Naymz A professional networking site like linkedin. You create your profile and add your web site in the link section. You can also add your RSS feed if your web site has one. Every blog has an RSS feed. You can add more than one links and RSS feeds. Go ahead and add links to all your web sites at Naymz.

Help.com It is a networking site where you ask questions post replies to other peoples’ question. You can use links with anchor texts in the replies. Be careful not to spam. If your website has answers to a question, point them to your web site.

Blurtit.com Similar to Help.com. People ask questions and post answers. You can use links with anchor texts. These question/answer type sites can be very time consuming. May be you can hit one site a week and spend no more than 15 minutes there. It is up to you if you really want to help people answering their questions which in most cases can be found by doing some Google research.

Yedda.com Another Q/A type site like Help.com or Blurtit.com. Check it out if you are interested in these type of sites. I don’t use Q/A type site because they are really time consuming and I don’t want to post links to my site unless it is relevant.

Unasked.com Another Q/A type site. They have a directory where you can add your site URL.

Gather.com A Facebook type social networking site. it is a gathering of people around topics that they love to talk about. Create your profile and add a link to your web site. No way to use anchor texts in the link.

Grazr.com It is not a site where you can use add your website’s URL. Grazr offers a simple way to create a widget using the RSS feed of a web site. Create a widget here using the RSS feed of your site and post the widget code in other sites that allow you to do that.

Lifehack This is a lifehack site. A lifehack is any hacks, tips, or tricks that is used to get things done by automating the process. It is like a blog site but topics are geared towards lifehacks. You can create a profile and add your links with anchor text.

Drupal Drupal is a content management system. You create an account at the site and add links to your website.

In a couple of hours, you will be able to create accounts and place your oneway links in the 16 sites I have described above. If you know more sites like these from where you can get oneway links, please post it in the comments.
