Free online classified ads are risk free online solutions to promote your affiliate business. You don’t spend a dime to post ads on free classified sites. So what are you going to lose? Well, you may waste a lot of time if you don’t do it right. It may also frustrate you because you may not get expected results.
The response to your ads depends on how you use free classified sites to market your products and services. Follow the steps described below to maximize your chance of success.
Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Don’t spend all your time in one classified site. Create a list of half a dozen sites where you should regularly post and renew your ads.
First, you need to find out a few sites that are well suited to your products and services. How do you do that? By testing your ads in a dozen sites and picking a few that produce results for your offerings. Use only those selected sites regularly by posting new ads and renewing existing ads.
To create an initial list of a dozen sites, use Google. Search using keywords “free ads”, “free classifieds”, “free online classifieds”, “free business classifieds”, etc. If you are looking for a few niche classified sites, use the niche keyword in your search query, e.g. “free auto classifieds.”
Once you have created a list of 10+ classified sites, visit each site and spend a some time to browse through their listings to familiarize yourself with the site. Sign up at those sites using a public email address (Google, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.). You can also use myluckymail.com, a service provided by classifiedsforfree.com
Write a magnetic title. A magnetic title is a title that will arouse the curiosity of the reader but it must be believable also. If your title is “Make $1,000 Day”, it is not a believable title.
As you might have noticed while browsing through the listings of various sites, there are hundreds and thousands of ads in a popular site. If you want to stand out from the crowd, you need to use a title that attracts readers’ attention.
Find out a few popular keywords people use to search for your niche using Google. Google AdWords keyword tool is a great tool for keyword researching. Pick a dozen related keywords and try to creatively use those keywords in your ad title.
Write a good ad description in 100 words or less. Emphasize the benefits of your products and use call to action phrases, like “click now for a free eBook.”
You should also create half a dozen variations of the same ad and post around 20 ads in each site. Don’t spam these sites. Post only in relevant categories. Now monitor the responses from these sites for two weeks.
You can use the statistics provided by the site and your affiliate statistics to determine the sites that are good for your offerings. If you are using an affiliate account, tell them that you want to test the offering in different sites and you want some way to track it.
